SLR lens camera super telephoto lenses and Macro Lens for Nikon D40 .. D40X .. D60

I bought the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro objective for my Nikon D40 .. the goal is a motor autofocus and not very well .. with the Nikon D60 and D40 D40X ..
Shot mostly landscapes, animals, birds and flowers, and took pictures with this nice 70-300mm telephoto lens and Macro Lens. This objective is not the image stabilization, however, with the objective without a tripod, there seems to be a big problem, because I have not had many blurred photos .. The goal is a very reasonable price for the amateur photographer ..

SLR lens camera excellent goal and an incredible value!

I hesitated buying this goal for my Nikon D40x, probably - on the list saw six or seven times before you buy. In truth, I was surprised how inexpensive, is concerned. Now I am an amateur photographer, probably pretty average compared to most of my pictures of things in the family: kids sporting events, parties, birthdays and more. But this does not mean I am willing to compromise on quality, not just to save some money, and I know that the quality of the Nikon 55-200 lens.

But I bought it based on the review Michael Del Priore (his was the only contribution at the moment) - I thought at that price (especially compared with the Nikon 55-200), why not make a shot, and I'm glad I did .

This is an excellent objective. The motor autofocus is fast and not chewing the battery (I was worried about that, but the shot about 170 pictures of my son's games on two Saturdays, and not use the battery more than the Nikon 35-70 lens camera.) As "cinderoo" I speak no problem of stabilization, either directly collected during the next 12 years of age, children pass through a field. And this is a problem with macro photography, but I wish that most of the photos on the macro (admittedly limited), probably never imagined a tripod anyway.

Well, no one would mistake for a professional photographer, but I can tell you that if I go with my photos on my D40 and Sigma lens 24-inch iMac, shoot and view in full screen to all * * I was searching when I decided to go to a SLR camera.

SLR lens camera excellent for the price

From the perspective of a serious amateur photographer, I must say that this goal is a good value for money. In good light, he cranks on the clear images with strong contrasts and colors, including handheld. As expected, it can be quite confusing at the end of a long life in low light, then with a tripod, if you plan to use this target.

Construction feels solid enough for me. The thing is heavy and appears to have the metal in places where it does best. I like how you feel the zoom ring, probably better than most of my Nikon lenses.

I believe that using macro mode a little awkward, because it works only in the range 200-300mm. Maybe I'm a Grouch great, but I think it is necessary to tinker too much with the lens when I want to hunt and macros, or returning to a normal switch. It should be up to 200 mm or more to switch macro mode may be extended, and it is important to focus at a distance not at the macro level, where you can zoom back to return. It does not seem so bad, but these are things I prefer not to think about when I concentrate on composition. However, I must say that the result is very good lens for macro photography that I rarely get there.

A great starter slr lens camera

I have a Nikon D40 and a photographer to boot. Nikon purchased with the lens kit and decided to buy a telephoto lens from 200 to 300 millimeters to get the camera. I decided to buy Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 DL-M lens that was one of the few opportunities today for my camera, without knowing much slower. antastic sensor, great features, decent Lens Kit

In general, this is a voice of first class from Canon, with a superb CMOS sensor, 12.2 MP that keeps noise to a minimum, especially with NR activated. Coupled with the correct lens 450D can provide stunning images with incredible detail. Overall rate of fire is very, very good and the viewfinder is generous in size. The LCD is big and bright.

As there are many reviews already Rebel XSI, I will detail some negative aspects of the camera so that potential owners can decide if any of them have switches meet their specific needs.

Corps. The XSI is built almost entirely of high density plastic and feels fragile to me that the Nikon. The plastic LCD cover is rather exposed and probably needs a post-screen protector on the market. Many entry-level SLR as there is no auxiliary parameter / count LCD on top of the device (the camera does not give you a good amount of information). The battery seems to be relatively fragile when opened.
If the holding time and robustness is vital, the Pentax K200D is more solidly built at a slightly lower price.

Auto-white balance. While you can easily solve this problem with custom WB settings, the fact remains that in the presence of fluorescent light setting (and often self) XSI is off the color balance wise. With Live View, it is clear that there is too much red / yellow under fluorescent light. Filament is better but not perfect. Tungsten looks very good, and during daylight hours, the World Bank seems excellent. Nikon may have problems with a little 'less certain default settings, but I think most manufacturers have a few questions WB out of the box.

-Auto-Focus and AV. The versatile eleven o'clock autofocus point is usually very quick but sometimes freaks out. Distance AF may be inaccurate at times in broad daylight. Exposure compensation is + or - 2 at most. Continuous drive mode has a maximum limit of exposure, even in JPEG mode.

Hand-grip. The handle XSI is relatively short and less safe in my hands larger image Nikon, Pentax and Sony have tried. While the grip is very comfortable, which means small me gripping the camera with my middle and ring fingers, reinforced the bottom with your finger. A strap in his hand would be useful, but the Opteka feels too fragile for my tastes.

Lens-Kit. The EF-S 18-55 is a big step up from P & S camera, but not particularly impressive compared to the SLR. For Nikon / Canon standard kit lens is good, and the image stabilization works very well. If I were to buy a camera today I could forego the kit lens and go directly to a premium of 28 millimeters, keeping my 50mm f1.8 II. The difference in image quality between 50mm f1.8 II lens kit is visible. I remember the 1.6x crop factor (50mm ~ 80mm effective example) due to APS-C.

JPEG-default settings. JPEG default settings are good, but it seems a bit 'less saturated fat and a bit' stronger than normal in Canon. This can be easily adjusted course. RAW is impeccable.

Live View is limited and can not be used in automatic mode. Live View turns off the viewfinder at all (except during AF) and is limited in the way that you can use. The Olympus Live View is considered to be better implemented, but the 400/500 series viewfinders are smaller. To use a tripod, XSI live view with magnification of the image and manual focus may be necessary.

-Proprietary Li-Ion. The 450D uses a (long) 7.4V 1080mAH Battery and Canon includes a charger, the replacements are not a low-cost, third parties may be less. Almost all other manufacturers also use expensive proprietary packages, with the K200D is an exception.

Absent from these small defects, the Rebel XSI is a really great camera with good features and a sensor that can really make use of high-quality lenses. Versatile and compact, the XSI camera is more than enough for almost anyone.
